Boarding Training & Matching
Strong organizations start with strong boards. Building Better Boards is a two-part program from Leadership Stark County, presented in partnership with BVU (Business Volunteers Unlimited). It’s designed for executive directors and nonprofit staff, current board members, and anyone ready to serve. Part One: Board Training (Friday, Nov. 13). Gain a clear picture of today’s nonprofit sector, learn the seven basic responsibilities of a board member, and discover how to find the right fit. The morning closes with a panel of Stark County board and nonprofit leaders. Part Two: Board Matching (Friday, Dec. 4). Meet 10–15 local nonprofits in a fast-paced speed-networking format. When the interest is mutual, we connect you so the conversation can continue, pairing the right people with the right boards for real community impact. Board Training is required to participate in Board Matching. Time: Doors open at 8:30 AM. Program runs 9:00–11:30 AM. Cost: $80 per session Signature Alumni: Save $50 per session.
