Founded in 1983, Employers Health Coalition (EHC) is a not-for-profit, 501(C)(3) organization passionately committed to providing resources, tools and advice that help employers provide access to high-quality health care benefits at a sustainable cost.
In 1999, Employers Health Purchasing Corporation was incorporated as a subsidiary of the coalition to establish group purchasing contracts for a variety of health benefit services, such as pharmacy benefits management (PBM) services, employee assistance programs (EAP), dental benefits, vision benefits and private exchange services. Today, these two organizations, collectively known as Employers Health, represent more than 200 member organizations, headquartered in 30 different states.
Led by CEO, Chris Goff, Employers Health is a long-time supporter of Leadership Stark County and maintains a number of Signature Program graduates on staff. Chief financial officer Steve Burger is a 14th class graduate; chief operating officer, Mike Stull is a graduate of the 20th class; and Marcas Miles, senior director, marketing & communications, is a 22nd class graduate. A graduate of the Spotlight for Young Professionals course, Chris Reynolds is an operations specialist.
Not only is Employer’s Health sponsoring the Asset Building Day program, but CEO Chris Goff has also pledged additional assets from the company to one of the non-profits participating in the group projects. One of the goals of Asset Building Day is to introduce class members to grass-roots activism by working in groups with local non-profits on identified needs. Employers Health will award a $1000 grant towards a project centered around health or food supply.
