Leadership Stark County Programs
Leadership Stark County offers various programs that fulfill its mission of developing a core of motivated leaders for Stark County. The programs below target the distinct needs of Stark County's emerging and established leaders.
The Signature Program:
How it works: The Signature Program strives to develop a core of motivated leaders with a lifelong commitment to community trusteeship through training in leadership skills and education about the community. Our graduates add their expertise to more than 170 local non-profits and 43 graduates are currently serving as president or chair for those boards
When: The 2009-2010 program is now full. Applications for the class beginning September 2010 will be available on-line in January 2010.
For whom: Experienced & emerging community leaders
Tuition 2009: $2,200, includes all materials, meals, and lodging

Government Leadership Academy:
How it works: The Academy's objective is to help develop a network of individuals committed to public service and to help county officials become more effective public servants. This is a six week course that meets for 4 hours weekly.
When: February 2010
For whom: This class is for elected & appointed officials, potential candidates and anyone interested in public service.

Spotlight Stark County
How it works: Designed to motivate young professionals looking to develop a sense of their place in the community. The focus is on personal leadership development, community service, and timely community issues. Class members will have the opportunity to network throughout the course with other community minded individuals. Kent State Stark Office of Corporate and Community Services brings their facilitation expertise to the program.
When: Begins in September 2009, applications due by Friday, September 4, 2009
For Whom: Targeted for the younger professional.

The Encounter Bus Tour:
How it works: It is an eye opening bus tour that highlights all that Stark County has to offer. Join community leaders as they show you the opportunities and resources available in Stark County. The tour highlights cultural, civic, economic, educational, historic and recreational aspects of the area.
When: Thursday, October 22, 2009
For whom: If you are new to the area, working in a new position, or just want to investigate what Stark County has to offer.

Alumni Advantage Program:
How it works: Leadership Advantage is designed for graduates of other community leadership programs that would also like to take advantage of Leadership Stark County alumni programs and services. By attending two Leadership Stark County programs with current class members, you become an official alumnus of our Leadership Stark County Program.
