Endorsed by leadership of both parties, the Government Leadership Academy is perfect for newly elected or appointed government office holders, candidates, prospective candidates, or anyone who wants to know more about the political process.

Leadership Stark County graduates are encouraged to apply and/or forward this information to government officials in your area.

Meeting twice a week for six weeks, the course will cover:

• Leadership skills, styles, and effective decision making
• Economic development opportunities and techniques
• Ohio Ethics Training
• Understanding the Media and how to make it work for you
• Communicating and working with citizens
• Regionalization

Class meets on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 4:00-6:00 p.m. beginning February 9 and concluding March 22. Apply on-line HERE by January 20, 2011. The cost is $350 for applications received by January 10; after that date it is $395. Partial tuition assistance is available for representatives of government, education, or non-profit sectors.
