Come Back to Class!
Update your Signature Program knowledge by re-taking a program day
How long has it been since you graduated from Leadership Stark County’s Signature Program? You know you’ve changed, Stark County has changed, and Leadership Stark County has changed too! Experience a Program Day along with the 31st Class for a look at today’s issues and challenges.
Human Services Day
Thursday, December 7, 7:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m.
The holidays are coming and everywhere we go there are opportunities to help our fellow community members with a donation of a meal, a Christmas gift, or our spare change in a kettle. But what do we really know about the needs in our community and how best to ensure that everyone has a satisfactory quality of life?
Come to the 31st Class Human Services day and receive a full day of interactive experiences designed to further your understanding of the issues facing some of our citizens and the systems that are in place to provide solutions.
The highlight of the day is always the Poverty Simulation in which you’ll play the part of a family member in need of social services. Immediately following the simulation, you’ll take a ride on public transportation for a meal at a local nutrition center (what we used to call a soup kitchen).
Throughout the course of the day you’ll interact with some key figures from local social services providers:
- Sarah Hayden, Stark County Mental Health and Addiction Recovery Services Board
- Todd Porter, special projects editor, The Repository (24th Class)
- Kirt Conrad, president & CEO, SARTA (24th Class)
- Keith Hochadel, president & CEO, CommQuest Services, Inc. (31st class)
- Judge Michael Howard, retired, Family Court (7th Class)
Alumni Advantage sessions are available to Leadership Stark County Signature Program graduates ONLY!
